Our Team

Ashton’s only career choice has been a Financial Planner/Advisor. He started his career after graduating college in 2009 from Minnesota State University, Mankato and moved to Belle Plaine, MN to open the Edward Jones office in this community. He quickly recognized the need to operate as an independent advisor and became an independent financial advisor in 2012.

Ashton is a very active member of the community. He has served as President of the Belle Plaine Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rotary Club of Belle Plaine, Belle Plaine Planning and Zoning Commission, President of the Belle Plaine Sportsman Club, and Belle Plaine Economic Development Authority.  He enjoys volunteering at the community events that bring so many people together. 

In his free time Ashton enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids. He likes getting outdoors with friends and family to go camping, hunting, biking, golfing, and just enjoy the beauty of mother nature. 

Dan has been part of the financial industry since 1988. He started with Lutheran Brotherhood, then moved to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and joined Focus Financial in 2009. Dan has received several professional designations including ChFC, CASL, and CLU degree from the American College. He enjoys hunting, fishing and pretending to golf. Dan and his wife Joanne have two grown children.

Kayla Buszmann is the Administrative Assistant for Pankonin Financial Group. Kayla joined our team in August of 2022. Before working with Pankonin Financial Group, Kayla has managed other small business offices. We are excited for her to bring her excellent skills to our team and help manage our day-to-day administrative tasks and assist with our clients needs.

Kayla graduated from Minneapolis Business College with a background in accounting in 2010.

Kayla and her husband Justin have been a part of the Belle Plaine community their whole lives and look forward to raising their two children in the town as well. In her free time, she enjoys being with her two kids, Blakely and Cody, cooking, spending time with friends and exploring the outdoors.  

Kacey joined the Pankonin team in October 2025 as a Licensed Agent specializing in Life and Health insurance. Her primary focus is assisting clients with Medicare enrollment, ensuring they understand their options and select coverage that best fits their needs.

Working closely with Ashton, Kacey helps guide individuals through both their health insurance decisions and broader retirement planning, aligning coverage with long-term financial goals.

Kacey is a graduate of Southwest MN State University in Marshall, MN where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2003.

In her spare time, Kacey spends time with her husband, Ben, and her children.  She loves cooking, spending time outdoors, hunting, and watching her two sons play baseball.  Ben and Kacey both grew up in Gaylord and love their small town and the people in it!
